Siku

This one's for when you're thinking about someone you love. You know when the feelings just come rushing in? I wanted a song where you don't fight that. You let it flow, and you let yourself feel it.

Siku means "day." That's pretty much the whole song: siku nzima, I'm thinking of you. I've been thinking about you all day. It's simple, but there's something calming about it. And "nzima" doesn't only mean the whole day. It means whole, like nothing's missing. So the way I hear it, a day thinking about you is a complete day.

I really didn't expect people to love it this much. I made it during six months of isolation. It was just me, in my head, making songs with no real feedback, and definitely not from strangers. I love short songs. XXXTENTACION is someone I studied and listened to a lot, and a lot of that influence comes through in my music. So seeing people relate to something this short means a lot to me.

The cover's an angel; you can tell from the halo. But it's standing somewhere dark, looking down, like it's trying to see through the dark to find its person.

Recording it took less than twenty minutes. Some songs just show up like that, and honestly, those are my favourite.

Don't overthink music. Let it tell you where to go.
